Berlin has glamour, culture, impressive sights, great shopping, world-class restaurants and a lively nightlife with trendy bars and clubs. It’s pulse is electric! But Berlin is also Germany’s greenest city with plenty of large parks, forests and lakes that allow you to escape the fast pace.
Berlin has many great sights, from the Brandenburg Gate to the Berlin Wall. The city has so many incredible museums including Haus am Checkpoint on the site of Checkpoint Charlie which was one of the most famous border crossings between West and East Berlin between 1945-1990. The museum tells about the escape attempts that were made over the Berlin Wall and is a fascinating place to visit. Museum lovers will also love Museum Island which as its name suggests is an island in the middle of the river Spree with five different museums to visit. At the Berlin Ostbahnhof railway station on the river Spree, part of the Berlin Wall remains. On the east side are 160 paintings by artists from around the world depicting their views on political change in Germany - the gallery is 1316 meters long and a great place to visit. Go down into the old underground network and you’ll experience Berlin in a different and exciting way. When you go on a guided tour of the Berliner Unterwelten-Museum you get to look into bunkers, tunnels and shelters from the Second World War – amazing! Alexanderplatz is a well-known and historically significant square in the Mitte district and a hub for public transport in the eastern part of central Berlin. Here you’ll also find Berlin's famous TV tower - one of the city’s signature buildings with incredible views of the city.
Travel to Berlin, the city that never sleeps with many famous bars, clubs and restaurants. A visit to the impressive shows at Friedrichstadt-Palast is a must for those who love glitter and glamour – it’s truly a memorable evening. If clubbing is your thing you can club all night the old Berghain power plant! Shopping in Berlin is a real treat and you’ll find everything from trendy malls to incredible vintage stores in Kreuzberg. The popular Kurfürstendamm shopping street has many famous shops and one of Europe's largest department stores, KaDeWe - Kaufhaus des Westens. Also don’t miss Alexa, Hackischer Markt, Friedrichstrasse and Boulevard Berlin. A trip on a Sunday to the flea market in Mauerpark is a great way to spend the day. Here you’ll find new and vintage fashion, vinyl records, antiques, gadgets from way back and so much more.
A trip to Berlin isn’t complete without a visit to The Berlin Philharmonic, undoubtedly one of the world's best symphony orchestras. Regular concerts are held in Berlin and be sure to check out the free lunchtime concerts on selected Tuesdays with both new and well-known musicians. For zoo fans Berlin Zoo is well worth a visit. Tropical Islands in Krausnick is Europe's largest adventure pool. Inside the huge dome is a white sand beach, rainforest, artificial sunlight, beach volleyball courts, waterfalls, lagoons, restaurants and tropical heat. Perfect to combine with a trip to Berlin. And finally – chocolate! A trip to Ritter Sport Bunte Schokowelt is a chocolate lover's dream. Create your own chocolate in the workshop where you’ll find lots of goodies and unique flavours to try.
