Discover Sweden - travel Rostock to Trelleborg

Take the ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg and you’ll arrive in the southernmost town in Sweden. From there it's only a short drive to the Scandinavian cities of Malmö and Copenhagen. Explorers will love the west coast drive through Halmstad, Gothenburg and further afield to Oslo.

 

Trelleborg -  the city of palm trees

There's lots to see and do in Trelleborg so make sure to spend some time checking out this great city, known for being the only city in Sweden to have an avenue lined with palm trees.. Close to the ferry terminal, you'll find one of the city's main attractions -  a former Viking fortress. With museums, art galleries and great shopping you'll have so much to keep you entertained when you visit.  

 

Trelleborg to Rostock - it's easy by car

When you take the ferry from Trelleborg to Rostock you’ll arrive into a lively port city with so much to enjoy.  Rostock has a great cultural scene and is renowned for its food and great shopping. If you want to explore a little further afield the autobahn is within easy reach allowing you to visit Hamburg in just 2 hours and Berlin in just 3 hours.

Rostock is a wonderful city with fantastic shopping, restaurants, micro-breweries and a great night life scene for everyone to enjoy. It's also home to one of the world's oldest universities. The city’s 7 churches are among the “Rostock 7” with the imposing brick Gothic churches of St. Mary and St. Peter just waiting to be explored.  The coastline is known for its beautiful beaches and only a short distance from the city centre you’ll find Rostock's very own beach resort, consisting of 15km of beautiful white sand.

Our air-conditioned single berth Sleeping Pods are ideal for the budget conscious traveller, allowing you to get some rest before continuing your journey upon arrival.

The Skåne ferry sails between Rostock and Trelleborg and with a crossing time of just 6 hours, it’s the easiest way to cross between Northern Germany and Sweden. 

 

Onboard Skåne you’ll enjoy a fantastic range of facilities including our casual dining restaurant which serves a great choice of delicious light snacks, full meals and drinks. Sit back and relax whilst you enjoy a tasty meal and take in the beautiful Baltic Sea views.  Our Deck Bar is a great place to wind down, catch some sun and breathe in the fresh sea air.

 

Treat yourself in The Shop which has a wide range of cosmetics, spirits, confectionery and sunglasses all at great prices. You might like to upgrade to our Quiet Lounge which offers a calm space with comfortable reclining seats.  If you’d prefer a little more privacy book one of our comfortable en suite Standard Cabins.  An even more unique sleeping experience can be had in one of our Japanese inspired single berth Sleeping Pods.

Port Locations

The port of Trelleborg is the southernmost in Sweden and is known as the gateway between Scandinavia and Central Europe. It is easily accessible on foot from the centre of Trelleborg or by bus, train or by car.

Rostock Port on the Baltic Sea coast of Germany is situated at the end of the A19 and is well signposted so very easy to reach by car. Regular bus services are also available for foot passengers.
